The founders
The M.B. Foundation was initially started by M.B. And Harini Sadashiv in the year 1999 and registered in the year 2001 as 'M.B. Foundation (R)'. The couple's aim is to stretch a helping hand to the poor and needy.
History
One Sunday, the couple organized their first Mental Health Camp in their home town Sullia with many renowned neurosurgeons and doctors. Instead of an expected small crowd of 50 people or less, the camp was attended by more than 200 children and their families. Children with Autism, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome and various other mental disabilities from some of the poorest communities were present and were able to receive aid. The majority of theses families never had the opportunity to acquire proper training, treatment or guidance regarding their children’s disabilities.
Motivated by this overwhelmingly heartbreaking scene, Sadashiv M.B. And Harini started the process of founding a Non-Government Organization (NGO). Their main goal was to help more special needs children and their families that were struggling with their disabilities. Opening Sandeep Special School was their next course of action in 2000.
